Message from Organizing President

Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the date for our fourth annual conference of the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON) on October 1-2, 2016 at Park Village Resort, Kathmandu, Nepal. The selected theme of this year's conference is, 'Neurosurgery in Nepal: From Micro-neurosurgery toward Subspecialty. ' The NESON's annual conference is the premier forum for all the Nepalese Neurosurgeons as well as those from neighboring countries for exploring controversial issues related to day-to-day management of neurosurgical patients. For young neurosurgeons and residents, this is a good opportunity for learning about the most cutting-edge procedures, approaches, and technologies in the field. It also gives them the chance of demonstrating their skills in the art of presentation on the research they do during the early part of their career. Our 2016 meeting theme highlights the gradual emergence of subspecialty concept in Neurosurgery in the country, which will pave the way for the eventual development of subspecialty sections under the broad umbrella of NESON. The key feature in this year's conference is the dedicated spine workshop from the experts in the field for the whole day. The fundamental purpose of this workshop is to provide the hands-on operative skills for the young neurosurgeons and residents on spinal fixation/fusion techniques.

The conference targets academicians, clinicians, researchers and representatives from pharmaceutical industry with the aim of encouraging collaboration and communication in patient care, education and research.

We look forward to your active participation in this important event of NESON!
